Value of the Pound, version 3.10

VALUE version 3.10 is a Windows 32 bit program for calculating the value of a sum of money in pounds, shillings and pence, between any two dates in the range of 1600 to 1999. Value is estimated in terms of equivalent purchasing power, graphed as a composite commodity price index or as a retail price index.

VALUE version 3.10 has the following features:

Input any value in British pounds, shillings and pence, a start date and an end date (1600 to 1999).

 Automatic calculation of the purchasing power on the end date with display in pounds, shillings and pence before 1971 and pounds and new pence after 1971.

 Automatic generation of a composite commodity price index and/or retail price index graph between the start and end years for easy visualisation of inflation.This graph can be zoomed in and out to see any level of detail.

 Printouts of calculations and graphs.

 Incremental adjustments of starting amounts, start date and end date with immediate update to calculations and graphs.

 Integrated and context sensitive Windows Help file that includes a tutorial and information on the sources used for the program.

 Rapid setting of dates by preset date buttons, and improved fine adjustments of dates and amounts by spin edit controls.

The VALUE program is supplied on a single disk. It requires a 32 bit Windows Operating System and 16Mb RAM minimum. Please see the Price List for details of how to purchase this program.
